Research

Maria Kueckmann was born in Warstein in 1961.

After finishing school she was trained as a bank clerk. She worked in that job for 33 years, until she went into an early retirement due to her handicap.

Since the age of six she regularly travels to Lake Maggiore, first with her family of course. But even in adulthood the lake didn’t let go of her.

Maria spent a lot of time in Switzerland during the first decades, mostly in Ticino. She hiked through countless mountain regions, Valle Verzasca and the Centovalli for example. But in the meantime Italy has conquered her heart with all its appeals und her travels lead her to Brezzo di Bedero and Laveno for the most part.

Since 2006 she speaks the native language fluently and has therefore conquered new worlds for herself at the Italian shores. Due to her sociability she did the same to the Italians that crossed her way. She cultivates those newly formed friendships with a lot of love.

In 2014 she met Sarah Burdelak online and both women felt connected trough their common love for the lake. They talked on the phone a few times and this only virtual acquaintance turned into cooperating. With her knowledge and experience now adds to the team working on Prospettive Mira Lago.
